Posted: 2/9/2010 11:00:04 PM Hold on, hold on! I want you to have faith in your weight loss program and I believe you should have faith in what Power 1K can do for you, but....
People put so much value in the actual program when it comes to weight loss. We always deliver the truth, and the truth is - most all of them work! P90X works. Body For Life Works. Weight Watchers works. Even Tae Bo still works! And yes, Power 1K works...but you have to do them, and you have to do them consistently!
Programs don't "break", people do. We believe you landed here at http://Power1K.com for a reason...you liked something you heard, you read something that spoke to you, and over time as you become a part of the Power 1K Community you begin to develop our philosophy...and that is the best thing you could ever do!
Why?
Because it is the answer to everything that has to do with your weight loss/fitness program, and maybe even your life. Once you have a philosophy to adhere to everything becomes easier...planning, decision making, and even the workouts!
Think about it, read about our thoughts...in our blog, on our message board, in the community...message us and ask us what we think - it is all available to you and VALUABLE part of your fitness program!
Start today.... Posted: 2/8/2010 10:19:58 PM I hear a lot of people talk about having bad eating days, even entire weekends...sometimes it derails them, sometimes it just sets them back a bit mentally, and sometimes has no affect what so ever.
....I have people at our Power 1K Studio and on http://Power1K.com who get sick, they don't workout for days, even a full week or so...they try to come back, but it is tough to get back on the program right away.
We all have guests that come and stay with us from out of town...if you were like most, the holidays were a huge time for family and friends in town. They are there to visit, be on vacation, and we are there to entertain...but still have to somehow live our daily routine. So we get off track for a bit...we are taken out of our routine - again, tough to get back on track!
BUT....
Fitness is not an event...not any fitness or weight loss program is defined by 1 day, 1 weekend, 1 week....not even 1 month! Fitness is a process, with ebb and flow. We have good days, we have bad....we ride the good days, and get through the bad days, but NEVER, NEVER let any of these EVENTS in the fitness PROCESS get you down!
Know this as a beginner to fitness, and know this as an experienced exerciser - don't let the bad "events" get you down, they are normal, and everyone has them. If you can understand the process you are more apt to reach your goals - get through the events, but enjoy the process!
... Posted: 2/5/2010 3:20:55 AM But we see people try it everyday, right? People are trying new diets, and following them exactly as they say, trying to cram an unrealistic plan into their lifestyle....how many is that working for?? Pretty much the ones you see on TV and in the magazines!
The word "diet" gets a stigma attached to it because of what people do to diet, not what diet does to people. We say make better choices, more often...not perfect, just better. Because we know...we have seen what perfect choices ALL of the time does...it runs aground - eventually, 100% of the time!
Check out our Approved Food List under the "Diet Menu" (above) if you have not done so already. Read the brief philosophy behind it, and put those principles into your lifestyle. I guarantee you can do it...it takes some discipline and a little will power, but you can do it. And when you do, you will see how this "Diet" can continue for a lifetime.
And as always, send any questions my way!... Posted: 2/4/2010 2:26:48 PM February is a busy month for me personally. Just had my wife's birthday, Valentine's Day, my birthday, typically one of the busiest month at the Power 1K Studio, and to top it off - less days in the month!
Everyone is busy to some extent, and everyone has things that get in the way of their health and fitness program. I blogged about it quite some time ago, about getting through the "hurdles" in life. And it is not so much about always getting over the "hurdle" in record speed, or with grace...but rather just getting over the "hurdles." Because on the other side lies your goals, and they can't be reached if you trip and fall and never get back up.
So for all of you who have a February like me, let's get over the hurdles and take charge of our goals!... Posted: 1/22/2010 11:06:31 AM As I near the end of the week and look back over my week of meals and workouts, I thought I would share something with everyone.
Success is not only defined by making good choices when eating well and exercising, but sometimes by holding off bad choices. We are all fighting the "battle" and dodging temptations...some days you "dodge" better than others, but there is usually a reason why - You are more equipped, better prepared.
I cooked my chicken and pork chops last Sunday as I do many times....got out my plastic dishes, distributed them evenly amongst them, put them in the fridge and I was ready for the week!
I can count 5 different times (that I know and remember) I was confronted with a situation where I could have easily made poor food decisions, but because I brought my (planned) food choices with me for the week, I made the right choice.
We talk about preparation often, and will probably continue to talk about it every week, but this is just one small example of how you can make a difference. Hope it helps!...
